Our Beliefs

What We Believe

In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Love

The Bible is God’s inspired word written through people by the power of the Holy Spirit across time, cultures and continents. The Bible is sufficient, clear, authoritative, and needed by Christians to form an orthodox worldview and for the spiritual formation of a person striving to understand God and enter into an active relationship with the person of Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 3:16, Joshua 1:8

The one God is three persons in one substance. His three persons are the Father, the Son (whose person is Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.

 John 1:1-3, Psalm 143:10

We believe in God the Father Almighty, the eternal and unchanging Creator of heaven and earth. He is sovereign over all things, holy in His nature, and abounding in steadfast love. As Father, He lovingly reigns with providential care over His creation, sustains all life, and initiates salvation through His Son. He is personal, knowable, and invites His children into relationship with Him through faith.

Isaiah 64:8, Ephesians 4:6

Jesus, the Person of Christ, is one member of the Triune God. His person is made up of two natures—one divine, one human. He is eternal in His divine nature. He was begotten, was with God in the beginning, and was God. He emptied himself and took on human nature. One day, Christ will return to judge the living and the dead.  Jesus took on human nature, came into the world, performed many miracles—the greatest being His death, bodily resurrection, and ascension into heaven. He will return to judge the living and the dead.

Luke 19:10, 1 John 1:1-3

The Holy Spirit is one person of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit is promised to enter into the lives of believers upon baptism and be an advocate, helper, and assist in the sanctification of the Christ follower.

John 14:26, Titus 3:5

Human beings were created in the image of God, by God and for God. All human beings have fallen short of God’s glory and suffer from the curse of sin.

Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6

Salvation is the deliverance from the curse of sin and the wrath of a holy God. It can only be found through faith in the work and person of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 27:1, John 14:6

Jesus has called every believer to be baptized in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19

The Lord’s Supper is a sacrament given to the Church by the person of Jesus Christ for the unity of the Church, self-examination, remembrance of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, and proclamation of His second coming.

Matthew 26:26-29, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34

Meet Zach

Lead Pastor

Dr. Zach Epps is a dedicated Bible teacher, church leader, and disciple maker with over a decade of Church Leadership experience.

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, Zach felt called to curate a community for restoration and redeployment by founding Way Church in Spring Hill, Kansas. As its Lead Pastor, Zach passionately leads Way Church in its mission to empower and redeploy people to live the way of Jesus for the restoration of the world.

A former wide receiver for the University of Tulsa, Zach’s athletic background has helped to develop his unique ability to apply grit, strategy, and teamwork in his role as a church planter.

Zach is married to his beloved wife, Raegan. With their two beautiful children—Isaac and Porter—the Epps family enjoys investing in their community through hospitality that reflects and honors the example set by the church of Acts. When he is not tending to his duties as a pastor, husband, and father, Zach is often found BBQing, coaching, or watching football.
